Then the London Film Funding Summit is the event for you! This immersive two-day experience is designed to equip you with the knowledge, connections, and strategies you need to succeed in the film industry.

 

🔹 What to Expect:

Prepare for two days brimming with pitching competitions, insightful talks, engaging discussions, and invaluable networking opportunities. By the time you leave, you'll be armed with a wealth of knowledge about how the industry operates, the various avenues available for funding, and which strategy aligns best with your unique project.

DAY 1 - Friday - (Online):

First round of the pitching competition to be held online. You can buy a ticket to pitch your own short film or watch the pitches and gain valuable insight from the panel's feedback.

DAY 2 - SATURDAY - (In Person):

Multiple speakers will be discussing various ways of funding a feature film. The finalists of the first days' pitching competition will also pitch their films in the second and final round to determine the winner.

LIST OF TOPICS & TALKS

ACQUIRING PRIVATE INVESTORS

Have you ever wondered how to find and approach private investors? And once you find one what are they actually looking for? What can you expect when you manage to book in a pitch session with an investor and how should you prepare? At what stage should you even start to look for one? We'll cover all of this in a hyper-focused session on finding and securing private investment for film.

USING PROOF OF CONCEPT SHORTS TO FUND FEATURES

We'll discuss how to use what you've made to your advantage. You'll find out how producers used proof of concept shorts to prove to investors that the feature will be a success. We'll outline what elements a short needs to have in order to be successful at driving further funding, as well as how to use the proof of concept when pitching to potential investors.

FINDING PRE-SALE DEALS

We'll explain how pre-sales work from a legal perspective and what to look out for. We'll also discuss some of the most effective strategies for approaching sales agents and locking in a pre-sale deal.

UK & INTERNATIONAL TAX CREDITS

Do you want a 20% discount on your film's budget? Then the UK tax credit us the way to go! In this section we'll discuss how tax incentives work in the UK, how to apply for them and what the requirements are. We'll also discuss international tax credits and who they work.

NATIONAL, LOCAL & GRANT FUNDING

We'll discuss the ins and out of applying for government and grant, what type of projects are more likely to gain funding and how to maximise your chances during the process.

CROSS-MEDIA IP 

Discover how cross-media IP can be a game-changer for funding and monetizing your film concepts. 

PITCHING COMPETITION

We will host a pitching competition to assist filmmakers in launching their short films and to help everyone grasp the essential elements required for a successful pitch.

The first round of the pitching competition will take place online on Friday, January 19th. On January 20th, the finalists will have the opportunity to pitch in person to a panel of judges and in front of the live audience at the main event.

All participants in the pitching competition may receive specific offers from the panelists, which could include funding, resources, and discounts. The top prize will consist of equipment worth over £2000 for film hire and platinum passes to Cine Circle events. (Additional prizes may be added closer to the event date.)
