Echoes of Tomorrow: New Sci-Fi Anthology Explores Memory, Time and the Future of Humanity

Cine Circle has announced the release of Echoes of Tomorrow, a new science-fiction anthology bringing together four imaginative stories about memory, love, mortality and the technologies that could redefine what it means to be human.

Starring Johnny Simmons, known for The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Stanford Prison Experiment and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the anthology combines emotionally driven storytelling with ambitious speculative ideas. Across four distinct films, characters encounter artificial lifetimes, forbidden relationships, extraordinary abilities and technology capable of preserving—or trapping them inside—their own memories.

The anthology includes The Aspirant, The Legend of Grayson Crockett, LifeQuest and Is It Time?

In The Aspirant, a rebellious young woman living under the control of a futuristic theocracy falls in love with her Elder, but their relationship is forbidden. As hibernation technology alters the way they age, political upheaval forces them to decide whether they will continue obeying the society that has kept them apart.

The Legend of Grayson Crockett follows a solitary man born with the force of a supernova inside his chest. Having spent his life suppressing the immense and potentially destructive power within him, he must eventually decide whether to remain hidden or finally embrace his true nature.

In LifeQuest, a physicist appears to spend decades pursuing his greatest scientific discovery, only to uncover an extraordinary truth about his life and the reality surrounding him. The film explores artificial experience, ambition and whether a simulated lifetime can hold genuine emotional meaning.

Is It Time?, starring Johnny Simmons, centres on a man addicted to technology that allows him to revisit his memories. While confronting his father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis and a promise made years earlier, he must decide whether preserving the past is preventing him from living in the present.

Although each story presents a different vision of the future, they are united by characters whose relationships with time, memory and identity have been fundamentally disrupted. Together, the films ask whether technology can truly help humanity overcome loss—or simply create new ways of avoiding it.
