EXILES OF EARTH: Five Sci-Fi Stories Ask What Happens When Humanity Can No Longer Call Earth Home

A new science-fiction anthology brings together five ambitious independent films exploring alien worlds, lost civilizations and humanity’s struggle to survive beyond Earth.

What happens when Earth is no longer home?

EXILES OF EARTH is a new science-fiction anthology bringing together five independent short films that imagine humanity scattered across unfamiliar worlds, searching for survival, connection and a way home.

From a future in which environmental collapse has forced mankind into space to an abandoned Earth rediscovered thousands of years after humanity disappeared, each story offers a different vision of our future beyond the planet that created us.

Featuring Outer Reaches, Phenohunting, Zarmina’s World, Pale Blue Dot: A Tale of Two Stargazers and GRACE, the anthology combines space exploration, alien horror, dystopian science fiction and emotional human drama.

OUTER REACHES

Directed by Karl Redgen

Humanity is searching the stars for somewhere new to call home.

When two space explorers crash-land on a desolate planet during a mission to find a new home for mankind, they discover that the world is far from uninhabited. A swarm of sentient microorganisms has already claimed the planet — and one of the explorers soon becomes its host.

As the infection spreads, the surviving commander faces an impossible choice: sacrifice everything to contain the threat or risk allowing it to escape into the wider universe.

Blending science-fiction survival with elements of alien horror, Outer Reaches turns humanity's search for a new world into a fight to prevent something far more dangerous from finding ours.

PHENOHUNTING

Directed by Erik Bakshi

Earth hasn't been destroyed by war or invasion. Instead, humanity has been forced to leave because the planet can no longer feed us.

Set in the near future following a catastrophic agricultural collapse, Phenohunting imagines humanity migrating off-world in search of survival.

Among those sent into the unknown are a select group known as The Cultivators, tasked with searching for the substance capable of reviving humanity and offering civilization another chance.

Created by filmmaker Erik Bakshi, the film transforms the idea of cultivation and genetic selection into a large-scale science-fiction story about scarcity, migration and the desperate search for something that might allow humanity to begin again.

ZARMINA'S WORLD

Directed by Arturo Corces

In the far future, one soldier finds herself trapped on a dying world with something more important than her own survival at stake.

Separated from her daughter, she must set out across the hostile planet and find her before time runs out.

Zarmina's World introduces an expansive science-fiction universe through an intimate mission: a parent trying to reunite with her child in a world where civilization and safety appear to have disappeared.

Originally created as the opening proof of concept for a larger science-fiction thriller, the film offers a glimpse into a future defined by isolation, survival and the lengths someone will travel for the person they refuse to leave behind.

PALE BLUE DOT: A TALE OF TWO STARGAZERS

Directed by Matteo Scarfò

Thousands of years after humanity became extinct on Earth, someone finally comes back.

Astronaut Gladia travels from the distant world where the remnants of humanity once found refuge and lands on an Earth that has been abandoned for millennia.

But the planet isn't entirely empty.

She encounters a robot that inherited mankind's accumulated knowledge and, over thousands of years, has developed a consciousness of its own.

Their encounter begins with conflict, but as human and machine confront one another, they gradually discover that they may have more in common than either expected.

Pale Blue Dot: A Tale of Two Stargazers takes the anthology back to where humanity began, transforming Earth itself into the alien world and asking what could remain of us long after civilization has disappeared.

GRACE

Directed by Gio Ursino

Grace wakes alone on an unknown world.

She has no memory of how she arrived there, her oxygen supply is disappearing and her only hope is reaching base camp before time runs out.

With nothing but her father's voice in her ear to guide her across the unfamiliar landscape, Grace begins following his instructions — until she starts questioning whether the place he is leading her towards is really where she needs to go.

Starring Gaia Brooks as Grace and Keoki Trask as her father, GRACE brings a more intimate and emotional dimension to the collection, using the isolation of another world to explore memory, trust and our understanding of what it means to find our way home.

For audiences drawn to the hostile-world survival of Alien, the emotional space exploration of Interstellar and the speculative ideas of Black Mirror and Love, Death & Robots, EXILES OF EARTH brings together five distinctive independent visions of a future in which humanity's greatest journey may be learning how to live without Earth.

EXILES OF EARTH will be released across digital streaming platforms.
