Cine Circle Releases New Horror Anthology THRESHOLD

iCine Circle is excited to announce the release of THRESHOLD, a new horror anthology bringing together four dark and unsettling short films exploring what happens when ordinary boundaries are crossed — between life and death, safety and danger, trust and fear, and the known and the unknown.

Featuring Crowtown: Rolling Sixes, The Relic, Getaway and The Malicious, the anthology moves between supernatural horror, cosmic terror, psychological tension and the unexplained.

CROWTOWN: ROLLING SIXES

Directed by Mark Kozlowski

When you die, you are given a key.

At the end of Purgatory stand a set of locked gates, and placing that key into the lock is supposed to determine your eternal fate: Heaven or Hell.

But not everyone is willing to take that chance.

Over time, those who refused to pass through the gates created Crowtown, a community inhabited by the dead who have chosen to remain in Purgatory rather than discover what waits for them beyond.

Then Cain arrives.

The creator of murder itself, cursed with immortality and feared even by death, Cain's appearance sends fear through a town already built upon uncertainty.

Directed by Mark Kozlowski and written by Tony Lee, the 14-minute UK short stars Leon Annor as Cain, alongside Tremayne Miller and Thomas Thoroe.

THE RELIC

Directed by J.M. Logan

A group of adventurers head into the wilderness searching for a legendary mythological object.

What begins as an expedition quickly becomes something far more dangerous when they discover that the ancient legend surrounding the relic may be real — including its prophecy of the end of all life in the universe.

The Relic combines adventure, creature horror and apocalyptic mythology in a fast-moving story where uncovering the truth may be far worse than leaving it buried.

Written and directed by J.M. Logan, the 14-minute short stars Stephanie Einstein, Johnny Wactor and Jesse Einstein. The film has also earned significant festival recognition, with IMDb listing 31 wins and 21 nominations.

GETAWAY

Directed by Ben Floss

Brandon hopes that a secluded weekend away might help repair his struggling relationship with Holly.

The couple book an isolated rural cabin, seemingly offering them the opportunity to escape everything else and focus on each other.

But there is something lurking beneath the surface.

As their quiet getaway begins to unravel, the couple discover that the location may be hiding something far more disturbing than either of them expected.

Written and directed by Ben Floss, Getaway stars Robin K. Johnson, Ashton Glover and Andrew 'Fig' Figueroa. The film was released in 2020 and received two award nominations.

THE MALICIOUS

Directed by Noel Vinson

Beth and Robert are already struggling with an unstable relationship when an unseen adversary begins stalking them and threatening the normality of their home life.

As strange events intensify, so too do the tensions between the couple.

Fear, suspicion and paranoia begin to take over until it becomes increasingly difficult to determine where the real threat is coming from.

Is something outside trying to get in — or is the greater danger already inside the house?

Written and directed by Noel Vinson, the Australian horror short stars Jacki Mison, Matthew R. Grego and Yannick Lawry. The film has received six award wins.

SOME BOUNDARIES SHOULD NEVER BE CROSSED

From a town built between Heaven and Hell, to an ancient object capable of threatening existence itself, an isolated getaway hiding something beneath the surface and a home where the source of danger becomes impossible to identify, THRESHOLD brings together four stories about characters approaching a point they may not be able to return from.

Each film explores a different kind of threshold — and what might be waiting on the other side.

THRESHOLD is available to watch online now.
