Cine Circle is pleased to announce the release of Worlds Apart, a new animated sci-fi anthology bringing together three ambitious visions of humanity confronting uncertain futures, hostile environments and worlds far beyond the one we know.
Built around the theme “Three Distant Worlds. One Uncertain Future.”, Worlds Apart combines dystopian action, deep-space survival and alien encounters into a single feature-length experience. Across three standalone stories, characters find themselves isolated, controlled or pushed beyond familiar boundaries — and forced to decide what they are willing to risk for freedom, survival and a different future.
The anthology features Many Moons, Firmware and ANV, three distinctive animated science-fiction shorts exploring different corners of the genre.
In Many Moons, scientist John Peake is stationed alone on Europa as humanity’s attempt to make Jupiter’s moons habitable begins to collapse around him. With resources disappearing and the future of the mission increasingly uncertain, isolation begins to weigh heavily on one of humanity’s last pioneers.
Firmware takes audiences to a fractured post-apocalyptic Earth, twenty years after a mysterious event known only as “The Incident.” Inside the walled Alcazar Exclusion Zone, a young woman and her decommissioned military droid attempt to escape an oppressive society in search of a better life beyond its borders.
In ANV, a young stargazer cadet working for a mysterious agency disobeys direct orders and becomes caught in the middle of a close encounter. As the conflict escalates, she is forced to question who she can trust and where her true allegiance lies.
Together, the three films present contrasting but connected visions of the future: humanity reaching into space, attempting to survive the collapse of civilisation and confronting something entirely unknown. At the centre of each story is a character faced with the same fundamental question — when the world around you can no longer be trusted, what do you choose to believe in?
Dark, cinematic and visually ambitious, Worlds Apart is designed for fans of dystopian science fiction, futuristic animation, space exploration and stories about humanity surviving at the edge of the unknown.
The release forms part of Cine Circle’s ongoing anthology distribution initiative, bringing independently produced short films together as feature-length releases and giving audiences the opportunity to discover original filmmakers and standalone stories through a single cinematic experience.
The initiative is designed to help short filmmakers reach global audiences and generate long-term revenue through non-exclusive licensing and distribution opportunities, creating a new route for ambitious short-form work to reach audiences beyond the traditional festival circuit.
Worlds Apart is available online now.
