Four acclaimed short films come together in a dark science-fiction anthology about people who refuse to accept the rules of their world.
The Hidden Order, a new science-fiction anthology bringing together four distinctive short films, is set for digital release.
Spanning different centuries, realities and forms of speculative storytelling, the anthology explores one central question: what happens when people discover that the forces shaping their lives may not be as fixed as they appear?
From a mysterious typewriter capable of changing the past to hidden mathematical patterns within the universe, artificial life born from grief and a supernatural presence stalking Victorian Manchester, each story follows characters confronting something beyond their understanding — and attempting to change what appears inevitable.
Four Stories. Four Worlds. One Hidden Order.
TIMEWRITER
In this noir-infused time-travel mystery, a young woman discovers a typewriter capable of transporting her into the past.
Sent back to 1944, she becomes caught in a race to prevent a murder before it happens. But changing history comes with consequences, and the deeper she becomes involved, the more her own future is placed at risk.
Blending mystery, science fiction and period noir, Timewriter asks whether history can truly be rewritten — and what someone might sacrifice to do it.
UNHANDLED EXCEPTION
Gifted young Eva begins searching for her missing scientist father, only to uncover a trail of codes, mathematical patterns and unexplained phenomena.
Her investigation gradually develops into something far larger than a disappearance.
At the centre of the mystery lies a possible key to understanding the universe itself — forcing Eva to question everything she believes about reality, time and humanity's place within it.
Mixing science fiction with mathematics, philosophy and cosmic mystery, Unhandled Exception explores the possibility that reality may operate according to rules humanity has only begun to understand.
HELGA – A HUMAN REQUIEM
In a retro-futuristic authoritarian world, scientist Amadeus Klein loses the person he loves most.
Unable to accept her death, he turns his extraordinary intelligence towards an experiment that could challenge the boundary between human life and machine.
But in a society already shaped by brutality, control and technological ambition, attempting to recreate what has been lost raises a far more difficult question:
Can humanity truly be reconstructed?
Inspired by the traditions of dystopian science fiction, Helga – A Human Requiem combines technology, grief and political oppression in a story about the lengths people will go to defeat death.
THE KNOCKER
Manchester. The 1830s.
Against the brutal backdrop of Britain's Industrial Revolution, a young mother struggles to protect her family while cotton mill workers endure exhausting and unforgiving lives.
But something else is moving through the city.
Known only as The Knocker, a mysterious presence begins threatening the people around her, forcing her to confront something that cannot easily be explained by science or reason.
Blending period drama, supernatural horror and dark fantasy, The Knocker takes the anthology into its oldest world — while exploring the same fear that connects every story: that unseen forces may have far greater control over our lives than we realise.
Reality Has Rules. Until Someone Breaks Them.
Although each chapter of The Hidden Order takes place within a completely different world, the four stories are connected by a common idea.
Each protagonist encounters a system they are expected to accept.
History has already happened.
Death is permanent.
Reality follows predictable laws.
Some things cannot be explained.
And yet, each story features someone willing to challenge those assumptions.
Across time travel, artificial intelligence, cosmic mathematics and supernatural horror, The Hidden Order explores humanity's obsession with understanding — and ultimately controlling — forces far greater than ourselves.
The result is a dark speculative anthology where science and the supernatural frequently begin to overlap.
Because perhaps the universe isn't random.
Perhaps there is an order behind everything.
We simply haven't discovered it yet.
THE HIDDEN ORDER
Reality has rules. Until someone breaks them.
